Welcome to Germany #Entry1

I have been in Germany for 7 years now. Moved from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, India in 2010, the quietness was strange. It took some time to seep in the life style, & to figure out that the one thing Germany thrives on is "Organization". Yesterday a new colleague from India moved to Germany. It was his first day. Like many others, he landed in this foreign country and was asking the question i have heard a zillion times now. How do i find suitable accommodation? I remembered my first day in Germany. I know how this will progress. I have been through it all. Searching for an accommodation, finding the right schools, registering yourself in the Foreign Office, learning the language, getting your driving license, settling down into the routine that we all long for... This made me think that i could put my learnings in one place, which would help people who plan to transition to Germany. Specifically, I can share more details about Frankfurt as this is where I live.
